Drawing inspiration from his cultural heritage and his experiences as an immigrant artist, he creates music that is both deeply personal and universally resonant. A graduate of the City College of New York's Jazz Studies program, JoeyKeysade has developed a distinctive voice that reflects years of study alongside internationally acclaimed musicians while remaining rooted in the sounds of his homeland. His performances combine lyrical melodies, intricate rhythms, and expressive improvisation, inviting audiences on a musical journey that celebrates identity, resilience, and human connection. As both a bandleader and sought-after sideman, JoeyKeysade has performed at renowned venues and festivals in New York and beyond, sharing the stage with internationally recognized artists. His debut album, *Orisun* (”The Source”), features celebrated musicians including Lionel Loueke and Mike Stern. The recording explores themes of ancestry, hope, migration, and renewal, blending African grooves with modern jazz to create a sound that is fresh, authentic, and emotionally compelling. Beyond the stage, JoeyKeysade is passionate about music education and cultural exchange.
