About Me

Introspective soul singer from the east coast.

Born and raised in Washington, DC, Acacia Grace is a writer and creative voice with a deep appreciation for jazz as both a musical tradition and a living, evolving art form. As a soul and jazz vocalist, she explores the intersections of music, culture, and storytelling, with a particular focus on how jazz continues to shape and reflect contemporary life. Her writing blends thoughtful analysis with an accessible, human perspective, aiming to connect readers more closely with the artists, albums, and histories that define the genre. She has also been a poet since her teenage years, even contributing to a collection of love poems. As a vocalist, her soulful discography includes several singles an EP and 2 albums, with Follement Amoureuse being her first full Franco-jazz experiment. She currently resides between New York City where her 2 adult children reside and Paris, where you can catch her around the city performing spoken word. Her daughter is an aspiring jazz singer attending a CUNY university, and her son is an accomplished percussionist.

My Jazz Story

I love jazz because... The sounds are not only vibes but eclectic. There's no other genre that can compare to the complexity of jazz music. I was first exposed to jazz... As a child, my family played alot of Motown and straight ahead jazz music. It really influenced me on how I want my music to sound. As an American and Franco Singer and songwriter, my relationship with jazz began at an early age in my grandfathers basement listening to Miles Davis, Grover Washington Jr., and Chuck Mangione to name a few. I love to make and experiment with jazz music vocally. I am also proud that my daughter Rhian is a jazz singer, majoring in music at the City University of New York; she is carrying on the legacy of her grandfather the late Bill Jacobs of the Bill Jacobs Ensemble who was a jazz musician from Queens, NY.

My House Concert Story

I host StageIt livestream house concerts and I love the intimate setting that it presents. Here in Paris there are always house jazz events, usually piano or horns based.
