Antonio Baiano

Antonio Baiano is a photographer from Naples, Italy

About Me

Antonio Baiano was born in Naples, Italy in 1962. In 1990 he moved to Turin where he begun to photograph jazz musicians. However, reportage is the main interest in his work, because “it allows me to explore and to reveal worlds and contexts different from the ones I know.”

He attended courses with David A. Harvey, Kent Kobersteen, Tomasz Tomaszewski and Alexandra Boulat.

In 2001 he begun the project “Roots” on the Afro-Caribbean religions which took him to photograph Santeria in Cuba and Candomblé in Brazil; “Roots” will be completed with the exploration of the Haitian Vodoo and the African origins of these religions. His works has been published on “Musica jazz”, “Repubblica”, “La Stampa”, “Collezioni Edge”, “Volontary per lo Sviluppo” and successfully showed in several exhibitions.

Antonio Baiano is general member since 2002 of ASMP (American Society of Media Photographers).
