I write reviews of live jazz shows in clubs in Washington, DC and NYC I'm from Kansas City, where I was president of the Jazz Ambassadors, published JAM Magazine and Exec Produced 12th Street Jump, public radio's weekly jazz, blues and comedy jam, for eleven seasons until 2020 when COVID closed alot of venues. I'm working on a guide to jazz clubs across the USA-- their owners are the too-often unheralded heroes of jazz.

My Jazz Story

I met and presented alot of musicians who appeared on our public radio show 12th Street Jump, including Bobby Watson, Karrin Allyson, Christian McBride, Joe Sample, Bucky Pizzarelli, Bob James, Jeff Hamilton, VInce Giordano, Diego Figueredo, David Basse, Randy Weinstein and a bunch more The first jazz records I bought were Monk's Dream, Kinda Blue and Giant Steps

My House Concert Story

Produced a public radio show in various clubs and bars in the KC area for ten years. Show was carried by thirty to forty stations around the country.
