This episode of One Man's Jazz marks the 1200th since its very first show at CKUW FM in Winnipeg. It moved over to taintradio.org in early 2012. One of the mantras of the show has always been that the show was about the music and the musicians who make it. I had no illusions of becoming—let along desires to be—some talking jazz head. So with that thought in mind, I decided to approach a number of artists about contributing a piece of music of their choosing and talking about said piece. They had carte blanche as to what to submit. I had a great response, and that's what ep. 1200 features. The musicians who graciously submitted something were Kari Ikonen (Finland), Nick Fraser (Canada), Samuel Blaser (Germany), Simo Laihonen (Finland), Brian Groder (USA), Anna Webber (Canada), Miles Perkins (Canada), Jakob Bro (Denmark), Satoko Fujii & Natsuki Tamura (Japan), Peter Van Huffel & Sophie Tassignon (Berlin), Jeff Albert (USA), Jason Robinson (USA), Francesca Remigi (Italy), Ben Monder (USA), Stefan Bauer (New York/Germany/Canada), Martin Kuchen (Sweden), David Virelles (Cuba/Canada/New York), and Tiziano Tononi (Italy). There are a couple of things from new releases too: Satoko Fujii's new trio album and EmAb Connection (Italy). Hope you enjoy the show. And THANK YOU for listening to One Man's Jazz, wherever you are.
