[Editor's Note: Working Out to Jazz is a new All About Jazz column, devoted to providing jazz playlists for the purpose of working out. For his second installment, Chris Lawhorn's emphasis is on largely up-tempo tracks from a handful of recent releases. Check in with Working Out to Jazz regularly, for new workout music suggestions, as Chris breaks it out for you by Beats Per Minute (BPM).]

For this month's playlist, I've tried to highlight a few recent releases. With the exception of the opener, the rest of the list should have you truckin' along at a run.

On that note, Pinetop Perkins and Willie Smith will get you started with a caveat to prospective suitors; Wynton Marsalis and company expand upon his ever-increasing repertoire—this time with the aid of Richard Galliano; Denny Zeitlin checks in with a fluid, solo piece; Myron Walden continues his exploration of the tenor sax, following a conversion from alto; and Chie Imaizumi takes her 12-piece on a sultry, aptly-named jaunt:

Pinetop Perkins & Willie "Big Eyes" Smith—"Settin' It Off "—113 BPM

Wynton Marsalis Quartet and Richard Galliano—"La Foule"—130 BPM

Denny Zeitlin—"Oleo"—176 BPM

Myron Walden—"Happy Feet"—130 BPM

Chie Imaizumi—"Run For Your Life"—154 BPM
