For Valentine's Day, partners pianist Iro Haarla and bassist Ulf Krokfors send some love from Finland in a beautiful set of tunes focused on Carla Bley (Barry Altschul is on drums), and for Black History Month, there's more from Dr. Mark Lomax, II, some Gil Scott-Heron, and music from one of the first singers to shine with the avant-garde, Jeanne Lee, from a Ran Blake-Jeanne Lee set of tunes from 1966-67, never heard before.
