About the Album

Named after Hertsmere Road in London, the song's inception began while Joey was on tour in the UK a few years ago.  A somewhat standard 1-4-5, 12-bar blues progression in the key of A gets a swath of tension with a flat-five sub, a major 6th and some pedaled notes in honor of Les Paul as the song was recorded live at the Les Paul Studio in Hollywood. Hertsmere Blues has all the hallmarks of classic blues with some interesting twists and turns channeled through the 100+ tubes in Les' 1957 console. Sweet street indeed.
