Il prolifico catalogo dell'etichetta ticinese AltriSuoni si caratterizza per una grande eterogeneità delle proposte, per una dichiarata apertura a 360° gradi verso i generi musicali e, di conseguenza, per una non sempre eccelsa qualità del prodotto. Se accanto a incisioni di ottimo livello, che denotano spirito di ricerca e curiosità musicale, vengono licenziati dischi di semplice intrattenimento, potremmo dire che lo zoccolo duro dell'etichetta è costituito da un livello medio che abbina ad una sicura piacevolezza un prodotto tecnicamente consistente.

Come è il caso di questo Lowdownflows, caratterizzato da un alternarsi di dolci melodie e tempi ricchi di groove, arie sudamericane e misurate dosi di improvvisazione, atmosfere fusion e complicate trame di stampo boppistico. Ma soprattutto caratterizzato da un impasto timbrico etereo dovuto alla combinazione del sax soprano di Daniel Bohneblust ed il vibrafono di Dominik Alig. Che evitano la tentazione dell'esibizione spettacolare e virtuosistica battendo piuttosto la strada di sonorità ovattate e soffuse, ricche di riverberi e liquide quelle del vibrafono, vellutate e morbide quelle del sax soprano.

Complessivamente ne risulta un disco che si fa ascoltare per un certa leggerezza esecutiva, a volte un poco monotono, ma sorretto da una salutare dose di buon gusto.
