Il trombettista olandese Eric Vloeimans ha alle spalle molte collaborazioni e progetti che lo hanno visto protagonista con il suo suono dolente e carico di espressività accanto a musicisti come John Taylor, Furio di Castri, Joe La Barbera, Marc Johnson, Joey Baron, Palle Danielsson, Rita Marcotulli, Roberto Gatto, Nguyen Le e tanti altri. In questo album, registrato dal vivo nel celebre locale californiano Yoshi, lo troviamo alla testa del suo trio denominato 'Fugimundi' che presenta una combinazione strumentale piuttosto peculiare: tromba, chitarra e pianoforte.

La mancanza di contrabbasso e batteria costringe il pianoforte e la chitarra ad assumere ruoli e sembianze a volte irrituali, anche se questa musica ha una dimensione sostanzialmente cameristica che non costringe Anton Goudsmit e Harmen Fraanje (rispettivamente chitarrista e pianista) a compiere stravolgimenti rilevanti.

La musica di Vloeimans ha un suo piglio deciso che le consente di evitare sdolcinamenti e lentezze. La vena a volte è vagamente spagnoleggiante, con la tromba sempre pronta a guidare la marcia verso una meta sfuggente e soleggiata, accompagnata dal piano e dalla chitarra come se fossero due ombre parallele e distinte.

I brani sono quasi tutti originali, scritti principalmente da Vloeimans, ma anche dai suoi due compagni di strada. Verso la fine fa capolino una versione dilatata di "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," ma anche in precedenza, nelle composizioni originali, non era mancato qualche rimando a standard ben noti.
