Claudio Cojaniz - Giovanni Maier - Zlatko Kaucic: Dreiländer Trio

Incontro di vecchi amici e collaboratori appartenenti a una terra attraversata da tre frontiere fortunatamente oggi poco più che un ricordo, ma che individuano culture diverse e tra loro dialoganti: Italia, Austria e Slovenia. Questo è Dreiländer Trio, ovvero Claudio Cojaniz, pianoforte, Giovanni Maier, contrabbasso, e Zlatko Kaucic, percussioni. In realtà Maier è italiano come Cojaniz, ma il suo nome rimanda alla terra tedesca, così come peraltro quello di Cojaniz rimanda alle terre slave - e questi ulteriori intrecci mostrano fino a che punto le differenze nell'estremo nordest si intreccino persino nei singoli individui.

Il dialogo delle tre terre si muove tuttavia su un piano di totale libertà: solo tre delle dodici tracce -, registrate dal vivo a San Vito al Tagliamento - hanno una base preordinata, il resto è frutto della creazione istantanea. Un modo di lavorare usuale per Kaucic, che all'improvvisazione ha dedicato un festival in Slovenia (clicca qui per leggere la cronaca dell'edizione 2011), frequente per Maier, come documenta la sua etichetta Palomar (clicca qui per leggere un'intervista in cui Maier parla della Palomar) per cui esce anche questo CD, ed è stato in passato più volte praticato anche da Cojaniz, con lo stesso Maier e con Schiaffini.

Protagonisti della musica sono i suoni che ciascuno dei tre musicisti propone agli altri e che vengono raccolti, rielaborati, usati come spunto per nuovi suoni in risposta, fino alla realizzazione di un tessuto narrativo collettivo. Complesso e non lineare, ma neppure troppo cerebrale, vuoi perché comunque il sangue pulsa nelle invenzioni dei tre, vuoi per il comunicativo suono del contrabbasso di Maier e la scintillante inventiva di Kaucic, vuoi infine perché la presenza del pianista (clicca qui per leggere un'intervista a Cojaniz) vena di blues e di sfumature liriche anche i momenti più rarefatti.

La complessità e gli spazi narrativi di "Trieste - ammam" e l'impatto della solo apparentemente astratta interazione di "Rain Indigo" sono (molto personalmente) apparsi i passaggi più avvincenti di un lavoro che non ha comunque momenti di stanca.
