Ci sono composizioni originali così come adattamenti di brani tradizionali (anche da parte di altri, per esempio il Golden Gate Quartet) o d'autore (e qui spicca il nome di Charles Ives), il tutto condotto con perizia e pienezza per un album che, al di là di un minimo di forse inevitabile ripetitività, rimane solido e credibilissimo da cima a fondo. Qualche momento più libero da briglie strutturali a volte lievemente incapsulanti (ma anche qui in fondo fisiologiche) attraversa quest'ora abbondante di musica sempre di ragguardevole fattura.
