Ondine: Révoltée

Ondine non trova pace. Madre indiana, padre italo-africano che disdegna il suo talento artistico e a 15 anni una vita spesa tra la Svizzera e Parigi prima di partire alla volta dell'Asia. Un viaggio in una barca nell'Oceano indiano e l'incontro, artistico e sentimentale, con il clarinettista e sassofonista Gilles Schwab.

Il suo primo CD da solista, Révoltée, riassume la sua vita privata e ne fa un tutt'uno con essa. Incontentabile, schizofrenica, esasperata passa dal jazz al rock al reggae alla world con nonchalance.

Il suo è un afflato teatrale che guarda agli chansonnier francesi e alle femmes fatales storiche (Marlene Dietrich, Nico e Patti Smith). E più che cantare, Ondine sembra recitare. Il suo è puro teatro musicale, la sua impostazione vocale è severa e arcigna. Canta in francese, raramente in inglese ("Stop War"). Il suo compagno di vita, Gilles, le disegna scenari musicali variegati e suadenti resi brillanti dall'utilizzo timbrico del clarone o della distorsione elettrica ("Stop War," "Révoltée").

Ma alla fine il gioco non regge le premesse ("Excusez-moi," "Ça") e Ondine dovrà smussare e rivedere alcune autoreferenzialità di troppo ("Vertige") e svecchiare il suo atteggiamento prima di convincerci appieno con le sue idee "ribelli".
