Non riconferma la felice impressione destata un paio d'anni fa col suo album d'esordio il collettivo torinese, pur in presenza (o magari proprio per questo?) di un nutrito quanto prestigioso parterre di ospiti, oltre a quel Giancarlo Schiaffini che già illuminava il primo lavoro (intitolato appunto come il gruppo stesso).

Il fatto è che questo seguito si rivela piuttosto in fretta eccessivamente dispersivo, con ampie aree in cui accade veramente troppo poco, fasi di stanca, insomma, che rendono lo musica non ostica quanto estenuata, tediosa, inconcludente. Un ruolo quantitativamente fin troppo rilevante viene assegnato alla batteria di Jimmy Weinstein (che sostituisce il membro originario Ruben Bellavia), il quale non pare saperlo gestire adeguatamente, e anche la voce di Lilly Santon, quando chiamata in causa, non sempre convince.

Le cose migliori arrivano così con "Fantasy" (di Weinstein), in possesso di una bella tensione, e con i due brani conclusivi, composti dal citato Schiaffini, cui -forse non a caso -si doveva l'intero materiale del disco d'esordio. Un po' poco, per un gruppo che aveva saputo lanciare segnali incoraggianti in fondo poco tempo fa. La gestione della libertà (perché il collettivo, come si sarà inteso, sposa senz'altro la causa della sperimentazione) porta con sé tutta una serie di insidie. Che non bisogna prendere sotto gamba. Sinceri auguri per un pronto PPC number three.
