I was so taken by bassist Billy Mohler's playing with the Dan Rosenboom Quartet which opens this show, I had to go find Mohler's music. He's featured in the third hour. Also featured are a bunch of great new releases: multi-reedist Mat Walerian with a superb band of Matthew Shipp, William Parker and Hamid Drake, saxophonists Larry Ochs and Aram Shelton with their new release for Clean Feed, saxophonist Sam Decker (there's a trend here), more sax from Sweden's Martin Kuchen and the Mathias Landaeus, dual Danish saxmen Thomas Agergaard and Thomas Hass, Texas reedman Willie Oteri, bassist Daniel Toledo, guitarist Dan Phillips and finally a pianist, Alister Spence, with Whirlpool, his first all-solo recording in a long time. Lots of other great music too. Enjoy!
