"My Funny Valentine," ad esempio, è risolta con un approccio minimalista nel quale la chitarra di Catherine centellina dapprima schegge di melodia per poi incendiarsi in improvvisi lampi che squarciano la delicatezza dell'esecuzione. "My Foolish Heart" è caratterizzato da un accerchiamento ondivago del tema principale da parte del pianoforte di Pieranunzi che origina un humus fecondo per il dialogo con la chitarra, qui dal piglio deciso e autorevole.
Ed è questa la strategia vincente del disco, un navigare nel mare dell'improvvisazione senza perdere di vista la terraferma, senza esagerazioni e senza eccessi, confidando nel reciproco ascolto. Quando poi, come nella conclusiva "Speak Low," le briglie vengono decisamente allentate, è un vero piacere sentire l'energia dei quattro scorrere a piene mani e con grande intensità.
