Little Women: Throat

Con una copertina molto à la ESP, l'etichetta di Giuseppi Logan e Patty Waters (ma anche di Ornette, Ayler, Sun Ra, e tanti altri), ecco un album che, come appunto quel glorioso modello, ha l'invidiabile pregio di non (voler) essere in alcun modo ammiccante, rassicurante, omologato; e invece, ruvido, magmatico, torvo, rovente, tra schizofrenia e turgore, sacralità laica e sberleffo iconoclasta.

Vi si rincorrono due ance al calor bianco, allucinate (per lo più), una chitarra rovente/rantolante e una batteria secca, frustata. Sempre per lo più, visto che qualche ripiegamento non manca, per esempio nel secondo e nel quarto movimento della suite (letteralmente "gola"; alquanto arsa, nello specifico). Suite che si chiude con un episodio che non possiamo esimerci dal definire "vocale," benché anche qui tutto si svolga fuori registro: nessun barlume di canto, e invece una sequela/groviglio di emissioni gutturali variegate, dal lamento aggricciato all'urlo (meglio: il latrato) vagamente lugubre, spettrale, al riso beffardo, ecc.

Un disco, quindi, eccessivo e sovrabbondante (anche imperfetto, per carità), che gratificherà non poco coloro che non vanno in brodo di giuggiole per certa bellezza di facciata, asettica e manierata, supina e svilita, preferendo semmai intingere le mani nella terra acre e grumosa. Ben sapendo, ovviamente, di sporcarsele. Magari, anzi, addirittura volendolo...
