Denise Kidder
Vocalist Denise Kidder is known for her gorgeous tone, intelligent, soulful lyrics and musical sophistication. She has been described as a having a "great ear" and a clear, horn-like sound. A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, she studied classical piano as a child for several years under the tutelage of her piano teacher mother and New York pianist Vladimir Pleshakov. She brings a high level of musicianship to her performances. Her jazz training includes study at the California Jazz Conservatory, private study with master vocal teacher Jane Sharp, and study/performance with Molly Holm and the Impermanent Ensemble, an a capella jazz vocal group, and coursework with Roger Letson at Contra Costa College and in Paris. She draws her repertoire from an eclectic array of lesser-known jazz standards, Brazilian grooves, as well as modern composers such as Herbie Hancock, Chico Pinheiro and Chris McNulty

Ms. Murray began singing at age 5. She grew up in a family where music was part of their everyday life. She listened to her parents and uncles sang to the tunes of Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole. In high school, she was the vocalist of her school band. They played mostly at school events and functions. Around that time, she was also learning how to play the guitar. Arlene Murray went to the Conservatory of Music at University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines where she majored in Voice. Rebecca is originally from Dallas, Texas and studied music from a young age. As a young singer, she became expert at harmonies singing with her musical mother and in choirs. Her first instrument was piano where she learned the basics. From there she studied classical clarinet for years up through high school onto University of North Texas on a clarinet scholarship. She was also performing in bands singing and doing musical theatre. The Retrobates
Born:
Mylos “Boogie” Sonka, the Retrobates trail boss, plays both steel and standard guitars, as well as the fiddle and tiple. He sings all vocal parts, though seldom at once. He has been an ace fancy yodeler since the tragic barbed-wire high jump accident. His main interest is western swing music, though back in the day he performed with bluegrass legend Bill Monroe, toured up and down the West Coast with The Frank Wakefield Band, and co- founded High Country. He played with the jump vocal swing group On the Air over the years, and these days he’s also chopping Freddie Green-style rhythm guitar with the 17-piece Ray Simpson Big Band
