Baptiste Trotignon: Suite...
A caratterizzare il sound d'insieme, più che il pianista e leader, è - ovviamente, verrebbe da dire - il tenore diafano e brunito, con quell'incedere come indolente, sornione, di Turner, senza dubbio la voce più personale (l'unica?) del quintetto. I terreni sono quelli, collaudatissimi e rassicuranti, di un mainstream risciacquato alle fonti di una contemporaneità comunque alquanto di maniera, anche se - lo ripetiamo - la cura per la/le forma/e, lo spiccato senso della coralità, dell'architettura globale, e una certa patina concettuale riscattano almeno parzialmente l'opera.
Più disinvolti, meno imbrigliati nella forma di cui sopra (ma proprio per questo, in fondo, anche più generici), i due ampi brani che chiudono il CD, nel secondo dei quali si ascolta una diversa coppia ritmica.
