Anton and the Headcleaners: Rotor

La vena di sana follia che pervade questo bel lavoro del gruppo svizzero Anton and the Headcleaners ci fa pensare più ai Primus che non a Frank Zappa, anche se sicuramente il genio californiano avrebbe apprezzato questa musica piena di cambi di direzione, di rimandi a mondi paralleli, di energia scoppiettante. Il gruppo aveva già pubblicato un album (Mess-Age) nel 1998 e dopo un lasso di tempo decisamente lungo sono stati contattati dal boss della Unit Records per la realizzazione e pubblicazione di un nuovo album.

Il leader Anton Bruschweiler ha approfittato di un periodo di studio come artista in residenza a Nairs, in Engadina, per scrivere nuovi brani ed elaborare una strategia di attacco. Perchè questi Headcleaners non se ne stanno certo con le mani in mano. Vengono a scoperchiarti il cervello per affondare i loro arnesi diabolici nella materia grigia e ripulirla da tutte le scorie.

Il clima è quello del rock progressivo tinto di qualche influenza jazzistica che però non prende mai il sopravvento. L'energia è inarrestabile, la voglia di mettersi a danzare sui loro ritmi folleggianti è devastante. Conviene salire su questo trenino scassato che se ne va su e giù per le montagne delle Alpi svizzere e chiudere gli occhi: alle immagini pensano loro, per non dire della musica.
