Northbound, Seamus Blake: Northbound
Il breve "Rumble" è, a seguire, un bel solo di batteria che sfocia nel più ampio "Song for Mr. Moorhead," il cui apice è rappresentato dalla sezione in trio senza Blake. Breve anche "Quietus," elegante, sospesa miniatura ancora in trio, così come "Gomez Palacio," sorta di solenne memento, cui si giustappone il successivo "Focus," nervoso e incline al free. A tempo di valzer "Pablo's Insomnia," mentre è un 4/4 tiratissimo il breve "Burst" (nessuno dei cinque brani pari raggiunge i due minuti), ancora una volta in trio senza tenore, laddove l'album si chiude in gloria, coralmente (pur con Blake che s'inserisce strada facendo), in "The Aisle," nuovo episodio attraversato da una solennità quasi liturgica.
Disco, alla fin fine, di sicuro interesse, pur da un'ottica magari non originalissima.
