Carlo Actis Dato, Enzo Rocco: Noise from the Neighbours

Alla vigilia del ventennale dalla sua costituzione, il duo composto da Carlo Actis Dato ed Enzo Rocco pubblica il suo quarto album, inciso dal vivo lo scorso 6 febbraio in quel di Castelleone, a una decina di chilometri da Crema, dove Rocco è nato cinquantatré anni fa.

Il disco non fa che confermare le coordinate del miniensemble, sulla cui linea stilistica l'estetica di Actis Dato, largamente collaudata da ormai una trentina d'anni—in particolare—di quartetto, prevale (diremmo imperversa) in maniera chiara, per quanto lo stesso Rocco abbia mostrato in incisioni estranee al duo di amare un certo citazionismo di dinoccolata matrice popolare, per quanto maggiormente calato in una logica post-moderna (post-free, se preferite) che definiremmo di matrice chadbourniana (da Eugene Chadbourne, ovviamente).

L'adesione di Actis Dato a quegli stessi luoghi (musicali) della fantasia è in effetti maggiormente intrisa di ironia, nel segno di un gusto per un incedere "grasso" che sembra nascondere una maggior dose di affetto per la materia, laddove la logica di cui sopra appare più sdrucciola, obliqua, certo più (magari pure lei affettuosamente) dissacrante. Il fatto che i dodici pezzi del CD risultino tutti a doppia firma dice e non dice. Il risultato è certo frutto di sintesi, di una storia comune che come detto rasenta ormai i due decenni, ma una data anima si coglie con chiarezza neanche troppo fra le righe. E ci parla un linguaggio sovraffollato e godereccio (spesso), sciorinato attraverso una danzabilità anche molto esplicita, una veemenza espositiva che procede a intermittenza (quando rimane sola la chitarra, ovviamente la temperatura tende ad acquietarsi), per una dimensione che certo l'esibizione dal vivo esalta e giustifica con maggior pienezza.

D'altronde, parlando del duo e di Actis Dato in particolare, sappiamo benissimo di non dire assolutamente nulla di nuovo.
