Massimiliano Rolff: Naked
Il lavoro si snoda attraverso sette brani scritti del contrabbassista che ripercorrono i sentieri del jazz a cavallo degli anni '50 e '60, con riferimenti al blues e alle ballad di grande atmosfera. Il tutto si traduce in un'ora di musica di ottima fattura, dove emergono sia le capacità di ogni singolo musicista, che una voce corale capace di andare ben oltre la semplice esecuzione delle partiture.
Si respira aria di grande coesione, e Rolff si conferma bassista in grado di guidare con polso deciso il resto della band. Il suo è un lavoro di anticipo sulla battuta che restituisce ad ogni passaggio di Naked la sensazione di continuo divenire. Come dimostrano le iniziali "Intercity" e "Tell Me Your Wishes," con Pozza e Cisi sugli scudi, e soprattutto "Somewhere Folk Song," il passaggio più intrigante di quest'album per via dell'incontro riuscito tra melodia e tecnica, esposizione del tema e sottinteso ritmico.
Il resto è mainstream per come comunemente s'intende, senza grandi slanci di creatività, ma realizzato con gusto e voglia tirar fuori l'anima dal proprio strumento.
