Gli otto brani sono tutti a firma collettiva del gruppo, testimonianza di una scelta compositiva che pesca sostanzialmente dalla verve improvvisativa che ben sostiene questi tre musicisti che dimostrano di avere ben sviluppato e interiorizzato l'istinto del palco, la capacità quasi animalesca di tirar fuori da semplici brandelli strumentali l'energia per proseguire nello sviluppo e nella costruzione della impalcatura sonora che viene montata a vista davanti a noi.
Ci sono alcuni punti di contatti con le parti più radicali del lavoro di Jean-Paul Bourelly e in alcune sezioni di questo lavoro (per esempio in "Bambalàn") saltano fuori reminiscenze di David Tronzo che forse sono meno sorprendenti di quello che potrebbe apparire. Altri evidenti riferimenti possono essere ricondotti al Tony Williams Lifetime e al Nels Cline più feroce.
Lo sviluppo delle idee è spesso avvolgente e torrenziale, un vero e proprio fiume nero che ci strappa dalla terra ferma per trascinarci nelle correnti più impetuose, fra spruzzi nerastri che profumano di salmastro e di alghe sfrangiate. Un bagno salutare alla fonte dell'improvvisazione, un necessario tuffo per mollare tutti gli ormeggi e i punti di riferimento e abbandonarsi alla deriva della vita.
