È un piccolo scrigno di meraviglie elettroacustiche questo nuovo lavoro, il quarto, del trio svedese Tape, formato nel 2000 dai fratelli Andreas e Johan Berthling con Tomas Hallonsten. Mescolando sapientemente elettronica minimale, suadenti soundscapes e un lirico sperimentalismo, i tre hanno costruito negli anni un convincente percorso che, sebbene si allinei a altre proposte espressivamente analoghe, anche di quell'area geografica, si fa notare per la freschezza del risultato.

Laddove l'oblio si increspa di piccoli ricami e aperture, con la presenza della chitarra acustica a accarezzare gli accordi e incantevoli tastierine a reiterare piccole melodie, si squarciano paesaggi sonori che sarebbe riduttivo accostare solo alla natura nordica, ma che prendono progressivamente le misure dello spazio e del tempo: in Luminarium prevalgono i brani brevi, i bozzetti dall'anima pop e dalla primitiva istintualità.

Si parte con una "Beams" che sembra un tenero seme sgusciato fuori da un baccello new-wave, con "Moth Wings" a trainare senza fretta verso territori più incerti, dove bagliori ambientali, leggerezze folk e un frinire di boscaglia digitale si incontrano sull'orizzonte. Tra i pezzi più belli certamente "Dripstone", con i semplici accordi del pianoforte a delimitare un area di sogno e la più lunga "Illuminations". Increspature necessarie.
