Bassist Luke Stewart is a prominent name in improvised sessions these days. His own Silt Trio has a very interesting new release, The Bottom, and it's the highlight album on this edition of One Man's Jazz. Also very interesting is Toronto alto player Brodie West's new Meadow Of Dreams; it's coming out the new Toronto label, Ansible Editions and Astral Spirits. Butch Morris is at the controls on a new release by the Nublu Orchestra live from the Pomigliano Italy Festival. You'll also hear tunes from releases by Portuguese drummer Diogo Alexandre & his Bock Ensemble, saxophonist Willie Oteri, free jazz trio from Norway—Emmeluth, Andersen & Nergaard—and a preview track from an upcoming release by drummer Ches Smith. Plus a whole lot more.
