Though Jazz Near You is modeled after All About Jazz and has an intuitive interface, we wanted to explain each section in detail to help you quickly ramp up.

Top Section

Once logged in, drag your mouse over "Hi, [Your Name]" for fast access to your member account information, your uploaded photos, your musician profile(s), your business listing(s), and your events.

If you log in to Jazz Near You, you're automatically logged into All About Jazz and you can access your AAJ private messages by clicking the "Your Private Messages" link.

You'll find a "Localize!" link to the far right. Click it to view jazz activity in other cities, view all Jazz Near You city websites or change the language to your native tongue.

Navigation Bar Section

We identity the city under the "Jazz Near You" banner on each page. And a local ad appears to the right of the banner.

The navigation bar items point to pages located at both Jazz Near You and All About Jazz. If you are new to Jazz Near You, click the "Welcome" option to learn more about the website, our plans and how you can join our staff. The "Events" page displays all the events in your area. "Venues" includes all the venues listed in your area as does "Festivals/Series." "News" links to the local news page at All About Jazz, "Photos" links to a page that displays photos tagged with the city's name and "Musicians" links to muscians.allaboutjazz.com. The Jazz Near You "Advertise" page offers many of the options found at All About Jazz though the focus is primarily on geo-targeted solutions.

Calendar Section

We list the next ten events in your city and you can either click "Events" on the navigation bar or the "View all" link to view them all. We include links to the event submission form and the CSV upload form.

What's Hot Section

The "What's Hot" section hips you to the events other readers are viewing and recommending. You can also see which venues in the area are the most popular, have been recently added or recently updated. You can even view which venues are presenting the most jazz.

Photo Section

Photographers and fans can upload their photos to All About Jazz. If you tag them with a city name, those photos will appear in the photo box on that city's Jazz Near You home page. So photos tagged "Paris" will appear on paris.jazznearyou.com, photos tagged "Boston" will appear on boston.jazznearyou.com, etc.

News Section

This two-tabbed box includes recent headlines of local news announcements and All About Jazz articles flagged with a local designation. If you post news and it has a local emphasis, include your zip code for U.S. announcements and the city for all others.

Footer

We repeat many of the links in the Jazz Near You footer and we include a "Feedback" tab on the home page. If you have an idea on how we can improve our website and service, please let us know.

Enjoy Jazz Near You, and please help us spread the word!

Thanks!

Michael Ricci
