This episode of Backstage Jazz features interviews with German saxophonist Daniel Steigleder, neo-soul singer Wellington Bullings, and international blues artist Otis Taylor.

Born in Southern Germany, saxophonist Daniel Steigleder has already left his mark on the German music scene and has quickly become one of the most in-demand live and session musicians of his generation. In his young career, he has already played concerts and tours all over Europe as a sought-after sideman and conducts workshops and masterclasses. He is widely recognized for his horn section work for established pop artists, such as Alice Merton, Bülent Ceylan, and Luca Sestak.

In a recent interview, American Songwriter wrote in an article about Wellington Bullings, "With the technical skill to bolster her innate talent for music, Bullings is an artist to watch." Sound In Review called her pop-jazz sound "modern, sexy, expressive, and genuinely conveyed," while 303 Magazine has described her voice as "full-bodied' and decadent."

In 2000, Otis Taylor released his breakthrough album, White African, produced by Kenny Passarelli. His songs confronted his personal connection to the legacy of lynching in African-American history and other dark topics. The album earned four W.C. Handy nominations, and he won the award for "Best New Artist Debut."
