Jake Fryer – Bud Shank: In Good Company
Meno colpisce senz'altro la musica che il disco ci offre. Un mainstream di stretta osservanza entro le cui maglie la sonorità più tagliente, non priva di groove, di Fryer contrasta con quella più plastica, rotonda, di Shank, il che è di fatto l'elemento più interessante del CD, soprattutto nella chase contenuta in "Almost Like Being in Love," a ben vedere l'episodio migliore dell'album, seguito da "Agnieszka," che almeno un minimo si allontana dal clima fin troppo disinvolto che caratterizza il lavoro, in cui tutto scorre liscio, anche accogliente, quanto privo di soverchi motivi d'interesse di carattere strettamente estetico. Men che meno creativo.
