Olivier Le Goas Quartet: Gravitations

Ventinove anni, francese, Olivier Le Goas è qui al suo album d'esordio. Un esordio forse tardivo rispetto agli standard d'età dei 'giovani musicisti emergenti' cui siamo abituati, ma indubbiamente un esordio sontuoso. Per gli illustri compagni di ventura, che lungi dall'essere uno specchio per le allodole per ascoltatori poco avveduti, sono piuttosto una conseguenza (oltre che, naturalmente, uno dei fattori causali) dell'elevatissima qualità della musica questo album. E, appunto, per la musica in esso contenuta.

E' sufficiente scorrere l'elenco dei titoli per avere un'idea abbastanza chiara di quello che Le Goas propone all'ascoltatore. Brani che spaziano dagli echi romantici di Schumann ad antiche danze dalle scansioni ternarie, passando attraverso traditional natalizi, ed ambizioni di estrema libertà che si manifestano in titoli dai richiami 'stellari' (ben lontani, tuttavia, dai visionari deliri di Sun Ra).

Una musica che, ovviamente, offre una pulsione ritmica notevole, sempre assai misurata, cui si contrappone un incedere melodico fluido e ricco di sapido lirismo.

Un gran bel disco!
