Duology: Golden Atoms
Dietro alla formazione che si dà il nome di Duology troviamo Michael Marcus e Ted Daniel, impegnati rispettivamente a clarinetto e tromba. Golden Atoms (che fa seguito al disco d'esordio omonimo pubblicato nel 2007 dalla Boxholder) ci offre una musica ben ponderata, frutto di una una collaborazione che dura da tempo.

L'intesa tra i due musicisti è perfetta, cosí come il modo in cui si esprimono ai loro strumenti: squillante Ted Daniel, lirico e meditabondo, spesso sulle note più scure dello strumento, Michael Marcus.

Tra i tanti brani interessanti il tema di "Quism" si fa notare in modo particolare. Ma è il modo in cui Marcus e Daniel dialogano che colpisce, per la sua capacità di creare un coinvolgente camerismo di matrice free (e non poteva mancare la dedica ad Albert Ayler). Dagli atomi del cuore ("Atoms of the Heart") del brano d'apertura alla fratellanza ("Brotherhood in Flight") e all'unanimità finale ("Unanimity") i due firmano un incisione che si fa riascoltare con riascoltare con grande piacere ed interesse.
