Mark Solborg, Anders Banke, Bjørn Heebøll: Angels
Ciò non significa che il lavoro non si faccia apprezzare per rigore, coerenza estetica, eleganza e identità complessiva, anche se a volte tende un po' a ripetersi, non solo come situazioni globali (il che ci starebbe senz'altro), ma proprio come cellule melodico-espositive (per esempio subito nell'iniziale "Den 7. Dag").
Ottime, peraltro, le due riletture monkiane (la seconda, totalmente tematica, con Banke al clarone), forti di maggior corpo e densità, così come, tra gli originals, "Rigors Remain" e "Longsome," uno più largo e l'altro invece più stringente, laddove "Angels" è portato su terreni decisamente più astratti di quanto Ayler avrebbe mai osato, il che peraltro, in questa sua nuova autonomia, non impedisce al brano di toccare a sua volta vertici certamente apprezzabili.
In definitiva un album degno di attenzione, fortemente coeso e, come detto, con una sua linea estetica ben delineata.
