Dopo il disco omonimo d'esordio, si intitola semplicemente #2 la seconda prova solista di Alessandro Gwis, che anche in questa occasione si propone in trio con Luca Pirozzi e Armando Sciommeri. Un titolo semplice, per una musica che non lo è. Non perché sia "difficile" nel suo modo di proporsi, ma perché è portatrice sana di una buona dose di sperimentazione e introspezione, capace di rendere il tutto molto interessante.

Il pianista, noto ai più per la militanza negli Aires Tango, mette a reagire tredici brani originali, che spaziano dalle movenze pensose di "O Sol Dos Dias Mais Lindos," dove si avverte la classica geometria del jazz-trio, ai disordini manipolati dell'intrigante "Buster Keaton". L'elettronica, dunque. Utilizzata con parsimonia, lì dove è servito e senza forzature; sia negli spartiti preparati dal leader ("Don't Blame Gwis"), che nelle improvvisazioni registrate in studio. Frammenti estemporanei che si innestano con naturalezza in una tessitura chiaroscurale, che trova il suo apice in "Settembre," passaggio tra i più riusciti.

Quella contenuta in #2 è musica viva, che rincorre un'idea certa di bellezza, rimanendo però a distanza regolamentare dalle insidie del calcolo matematico fine a se stesso.
