Rachel Caswell: We're All in the Dance

Il terreno d'incontro è un ricercato modern mainstream che si snoda in un repertorio comprendente noti standard (”A Lovely Way to Spend an Evening”, ”I Didn't Know What Time It Was”, ”Devil My Care”), classici del be-bop storico (”Dexterity”), temi poco frequentati (”We're All In the Dance”), un torrido blues legato a Ray Charles e poi ad Aretha (”Drown in My Own Tears”) e omaggi a Thelonious Monk, Sting ed Herbie Hancock (il ”Tell Me a Bedtime Story” già riproposto da Robert Glasper).

Un bell'equilibrio di calde interpretazioni vocali e luminosi assoli che assicurano davvero A Lovely Way to Spend an Evening.
