Today's programme brings you excellent new music from Sweden, led by guitarist Carl Mörner Ringström, more from Brazil's HII Trio featuring Igor Willcox and a Japanese fusion run with Polypus, Ryosuke Kojima, and the latest from T-Square. Guitarist and producer DarWin teams up with Simon Phillips, followed by New York fusion outfit Forq with their latest offering. We then turn the spotlight on the ladies of fusion, beginning with bassist Tal Wilkenfeld, remembering the late German guitarist Susan Weinert, and then drummer Terri Lyne Carrington alongside bassist Jimmy Haslip. Japanese piano dynamo Hiromi takes us further into the action, followed by some powerful drumming from Germany's Anika Nilles. From Brazil, Lari Basilio joins forces with Vinnie Colaiuta, before Cindy Blackman Santana brings us some more powerful drumming. Japanese duo Kiyo & Sen deliver another powerful fusion workout. And to close the programme, we ease into some beautiful jazz with Swiss pianist Fabienne Ambuehl.
