Kevin Hays: The Dreamer
Con la sua voce alla Chet Baker ed i ritmi in battere di sottofondo sforna un album gradevole, in cui ritorna alla formula del "solito" trio acustico in "Waltz for Perrin", altrove invece si dedica a suoni elettrici che meriterebbero di avere spazio nelle radio.
Ovviamente la classe non è acqua, per cui si guarda bene da mettere insieme troppe banalità che lo farebbero classificare come un epigone dello smooth jazz con armonie fin troppo facili. Procede fino alla fine con molta disinvoltura, firmando un disco in cui ringrazia "Bill and Doug for your incredible playing and endless creativity". Anche quando, come qui, preferiscono mostrare il lato più leggero della loro arte.
