Jacques Loussier Trio: The Brandenburgs
Allora, rispecchiando un pò le interpretazioni che davano i pianisti dell'epoca, aggiungeva - e molto - alle tipiche linee bachiane, mentre oggi i suoi arrangiamenti sono scarni ed essenziali, con la tipica forma tema-improvvisazione-tema, più mirati a cogliere l'essenza delle composizioni che a fare sfoggio di swing. Un Bach quasi minimalista quindi, che si ascolta rilassati e composti e che dà alla musica un'eleganza che di solito operazioni del genere, pur con tutte le buone intenzioni, perdono per strada quando ci si trova a registrare rendendo quasi banali le intenzioni del compositore.
La ritmica riduce al minimo i proprii interventi, dando pochi ma precisi accenti, senza colorare troppo le esecuzioni. All'ascolto sembra difficile pensare che la musica di Bach possa essere interpretata in modo diverso.
Un lavoro, quello di Loussier, che ha alle spalle decenni di concerti e registrazioni su questo materiale e che riesce a combinare Bach e ritmi afroamericani senza problemi di sorta.
