Crowdofone: The Box Man
Il principio ispiratore di The Box Man si inabissa nell’omonimo romanzo di Kobo Abe del 1973.

Una vita trascorsa dentro scatole - stanze-scatole, scatole-paure, scatole-desideri, scatole-ansia, scatole-notizie, scatole-sopravvivenza, scatole di sempre e forse solo costante solitudine - viene raccontata attraverso un persuasivo desiderio di evasione: “Se chi è guardato ricambia lo sguardo, l’osservatore diventa l’osservato”.

Il trio Falascone-Piccolo-Sato, in arte Crodwofone, modella questo principio, che saggiamente lascia in forma un po’ grezza, alternando voce narrante a passaggi strumentali ed effetti sonori. L’improvvisazione è eseguita, creata, immaginata, dentro il rigido confine di una scatola-stanza-strumento, ma spezza le linee di demarcazione, sfondando, delicatamente, oltre.

Le otto tracce, che intervallano dei “Box” a “Helix nebula”, “Capitan Cocoricò” e “The Room” (cosmici immaginari), raccontano atmosfere di estraniamento, capillare, quasi paranoico...
