Kephny Eliacin

Born:

Debellefontaine Fabien

Born:

Every kind of Saxophones, Sousaphone, Tuba, Clarinet, Flute ... Here is my story. Sent at 8 eight years to the neighbourhood music school, at saxophone due to a lack of staff in the city orchestra (i wanted to play the trumpet, by the way...), and after trying to spend a « classic » life, becoming Chemical & Physical Measurements Superior Technician (yes, ma'am), i realize that i definitely prefer blow horns. Actually, Saxophone is not so bad ! After few years learning with Nicolas Dary, André Villéger, Philippe Macé, Tony Russo, Pierre Bertrand, Nicolas Folmer and Emyl Spanii (Paris 9th), i created a big band named L'Oreille Cassée, for wich i wrote all the pieces, and i recorded a CD album with Inama, co-led jazz sextet rewarded at Saint-Germain-des-Prés and La Défense 2007 Festivals. Today, i collaborate with Fred Maurin's 13tet Ping Machine and Jean Baptiste Court's quintet Pensativa

James Porter

Born:

James Porter writes, plays and sings jazz songs: vehicles for jazz music-making, rather than self-standing songs with a set arrangement. A song is about meaning while jazz is about music-making (and rock about attitude). James Porter writes songs that are meant to be improvised on from the start, so that he hardly ever sings them as he wrote them, and his writing process focuses on the pleasure a musician would derive from improvising on them. He started learning the guitar when his sister dated a prog-rock guitarist back in the late seventies, playing by ear as much as from charts, writing down the music the piano or the guitar dictated

Virginie Capizzi

Born:

Michel Perez

French guitarist Michel Perez has the reputation of being a sincere and humble musician, a respected composer and a master of his instrument. What makes Michel's phrasing so interesting and unique is that he's not thinking like a guitar player, but more like a sax player and a pianist. Never showing off, Michel speaks with his heart and doesn't use his virtuosity for the sake of it. He is a musician before an instrumentalist. As you can identify the sound of Pat Metheny, Django, Wes Montgomery or John Scofield, you can tell when Michel plays; he has his own style and a great tone. His originality and sensibility puts him among the best jazz musicians. Self-taught, he started playing at the Hot Club de Lyon (France) alongside prestigious musicians like Slide Hampton, Johnny Griffin, Kenny Clark and Hank Mobley. After opening for Miles Davis at Vienne and Nice jazz festivals, Michel was featured in Bertrand Tavernier's film "Round About Midnight" playing with Herbie Hancock, Tony Williams, Wayne Shorter and Ron Carter. With keyboardist Gerard Maimone and Cameroonian bassist Rido Bayonne, Michel created the fusion band "Spheroe"
