Bertram Turetzky
Bertram Turetzky (b. February 14, 1933) is a contemporary American double bass soloist, teacher, and author of The Contemporary Contrabass (1974, 1989), a book that looked at a number of new and interesting ways of playing the double bass including featuring it as a solo performance vehicle with no other instrumental accompaniment. Turetzky has performed and recorded more than 300 pieces written by and for him. He is a composer whose music has achieved some prominence, as have his interpretations of early music and composers like Domenico Dragonetti. Jasper Hoiby
Jasper Høiby (double bass), Ivo Neame (piano), Anton Eger (drums) Phronesis was created by Copenhagen-born London-based bassist Jasper Høiby in 2005. Phronesis’ debut album Organic Warfare was released in November 2007 on Loop Records. Organic Warfare was in the US iTunes ‘top 100 selling albums’ charts for two months following its release, and has to date, sold more than 12,000 downloads internationally. Their hotly anticipated second album Green Delay was released in June 2009. The album has met with huge critical acclaim from The Guardian, Jazzwise and The Times, with Jazzwise voting it as one of their top ten albums of 2009 and journalist Chris Parker describing it as ‘a compulsively listenable, often downright haunting album’. This success has led to Phronesis signing to impressive new UK jazz label Edition Records, for whom they recorded their third album ‘Alive’ live in March 2010 at the Forge Arts Venue in London

Josh Tower

In 2005 Josh packed up his car and drove from Massachusetts to Eugene Oregon to pursue a graduate degree and work as a teaching fellow at the University of Oregon. While in Eugene Josh had the great fortune to work with wide range of outstanding local and visiting musicians and to perform on several occasions with the Eugene Symphony Orchestra. Josh graduated in 2008 with a degree in Jazz Performance and moved to California in 2009 where he is now the director of Instrumental Music at the Head-Royce School in Oakland directing several jazz and classical ensembles and teaching AP music theory.

And also with Henry Grimes for a great duet in Paris. He leads the "Nuts" quintet with Itaru Oki & Rasul Siddik on trumpets, & Makoto Sato & Didier Lasserre on drums

I was born in Ørsta on the west coast of Norway 4th f Jan. 1979. My mother convinced me to study classical piano at young age, but it was no fun and I was more interested in rock music. So I picked up the electric bass at age 10 and played in various rock bands throughout the teens. Jazz became my main musical interest after hearing Kind of Blue at my friend
