Miniatur Orchester: Pro Specie Rara

E' ora di finirla con le barzellette sugli svizzeri, l'Emmenthal, il Toblerone, Aldo-Giovanni e Giacomo e le gag con il poliziotto ticinese Hüber. Oppure no: continuiamo pure ma non tocchiamo le avanguardie elvetiche, sempre più toniche e corroboranti in un panorama di una ricerca new-jazz altrimenti asfittico. Non posso dire se è a causa della buona aria o dei prati verdi ma - facezie a parte - il new-jazz rossocrociato regala ormai sistematicamente lavori di assoluta intelligenza.

E' il caso di questo Pro Specie Rara, primo lavoro di una fantomatica Miniatur Orchester che non sarebbe sicuramente dispiaciuta a Frank Zappa, per il discreto carico di creatività e di quella tanto amata "extravaganza" che al chitarrista americano è sempre dannatamente piaciuta e accostata.

Il disco è davvero lo straordinario bouquet di assurdità stilistiche di cui si parla da mesi offerte da un collettivo molto attento e reattivo. Il tutto confezionato in 17 deliziose miniature la più lunga delle quali non supera i 4 minuti e 56, mentre la gran parte delle composizioni ha una media di tre minuti e rotti. Il tutto per una goduriosa helzapoppin ritimica che i titolari del progetto hanno ironicamente voluto sottotitolare con il logo "doubledrums & horns dixiebalkanimproworldbeat". Brillante ed eccentrica nel migliore stile mitteleuropeo, la proposta del combo diverte e convince innanzitutto per la varietà stilistica proposta. Due batterie e cinque fiati in grado di raccogliere influenze e descrivere accattivanti "nuove" architetture sonore decisamente ricche di sicura originalità.

Consigliabilissimi sia per l'ascolto a casa propria, sia per scelte finalmente alternative di direttori di festival in crisi creativa.
