Piano Cinema scorre in equilibrio tra radiose melodie e intricate improvvisazioni, dove elementi neo-romantici ed echi di stride piano e ragtime si legano in percorsi cantabili. Anche in questo disco troviamo riferimenti alla sua famiglia. La dolcezza di "The Lady and the Prince," ricca di riferimenti al jazz degli anni trenta, s'ispira all'incontro dei suoi genitori. In "Moonlight" emerge con chiarezza il suo amore per la musica di Chopin, studiata nell'infanzia, e altri brani hanno la fragranza di un commento sonoro per un film muto.
