About the Album
Over the years master bassist Chuck Bergeron has had the opportunity to play with a wide array of the greatest vocalists in jazz. Now he’s released an entire album of bass/vocal duets with such greats as Janis Siegel, Roseanne Vitro, and two departed legends: Sheila Jordan and Kevin Mahogany. For “Detour Ahead,” Bergeron turned to a singer he played with when he was with the Woody Herman Orchestra Lisanne Lyons. Together they provide a fresh and contemplative approach to the standard.
