Francesco Bearzatti & The Bears: Live in France
La musica -che include quattro brani del leader, uno di Roche, uno di Charlie Parker e uno di Joey Baron -è tipicamene a là Berzatti: immediata e pulsante, intensa e dinamicamente coinvolgente, con ampi spazi per gli assolo di sax o clarinetto, ma anche con una struttura narrativa sempre ben chiara. Meno aperta e complessa di quella proposta nelle suite di Tinissima, ne mantiene la forza e l'espressività, anche grazie al fatto di conservare la vitalità datale dal live.
Se Bearzatti mostra quelle che ormai sono sue qualità ampiamente riconosciute (ma che forse qui, in un contesto personale ma un po' più tradizionale del solito, mettono in luce maggiormente alcune sue radici stilistiche, in particolare quelle rollinsiane), eccellenti risultano i suoi partner -per Roche si ascolti in particolare il prezioso lavoro svolto nella deliziosa "Contact," ove duetta con il clarinetto del leader.
