This is uncompromising music. There are several new albums by saxophonists in this edition that should be listened to as well: Danish legend Jesper Zeuthen with fellow Danes percussionist Marilyn Mazur and bassist Anders Christensen, Hugo Costa with William Parker and Dutch drummer Philipp Ernsting, Portuguese powerhouse Rodrigo Amado with his trio the attic sweetened by the piano of Eve Risser, two from Jose Lencastre with different trio lineups, Daniel Carter on a new release by guitarist sally gates, and Johannes Ludwig of the Nano Brothers with their German Jazz Prize-nominated Ascend Flowers.
