Michiel Braam's Wurli Trio: Hosting Changes
Brutto passo falso per Michiel Braam, pianista olandese che apprezziamo molto al pianoforte e che qui si presenta invece al Wurlitzer.

Un sottile filo conduttore lega questo album a Change This Song, registrato appunto al pianoforte, in trio con Wilbert De Joode e Michael Vachter, ed è il gusto per l'anagramma. Se scorrete i titoli dei brani, capirete cosa intendo.

E però le analogie con quell'album si fermano qui. Se Change This Song era un album fresco e brioso, Hosting Changes è infatti un album assolutamente piatto e privo di ironia, dove il Wurlitzer spadroneggia. E questo, di per sé, non sarebbe grave. Il problema è che qui ritroviamo tutti quegli stilemi che ci rendono spesso insopportabile il synth. In particolare, quella tendenza insopprimibile ad abbandonarsi a vorticose scorribande sulla tastiera. Autentici frullati di note, con poco costrutto ed ancor minore musicalità.

Braam è musicista capace di ben altre raffinatezze. In questo album si è preso una piccola vacanza.
