Jacob Anderskov: Granular Alchemy
Il successivo "Sand," per parte sua, appare da subito più animato, vociferante, con Speed che abbandona il clarinetto per passare al tenore, imbracciato anche nel più sospeso, evocativo (e breve) "Metal," laddove la suite conclusiva si apre su toni più vivaci, anche se proprio il disegno ad ampie volute consente ai quattro di ripercorrere in qualche misura un po' tutte le situazioni dei tre brani precedenti, col collettivo iniziale che lascia il posto a un monologo pianistico sospeso e distillato, quindi a un segmento in trio senza Speed, il quale ricompare poco dopo al clarinetto in un clima sempre mosso ma al tempo stesso anche cameristico, finché non torna il tenore a chiudere brano e album.
Come si sarà inteso, svariati sono quindi gli incroci attorno a cui la musica di Granular Alchemy si snoda, pur nel costante rispetto di una cifra stilistico-espressiva coerente, riconoscibile, anche originale. Non tutto, magari, è stratosferico (proprio la suite di commiato forse si dilunga un po' troppo), ma in mezzo a fin troppo jazz odierno scritto in bella calligrafia e nulla più, tra sfoggio ginnico e stucchevole ricalco, questa rimane pur sempre una discreta manna piovuta dal cielo.
