Trio VD: Fill It up with Ghosts
Sin dalle primissime note dell'iniziale "Returns" la musica impetuosa del Trio VD arriva subito alla gola e ci coglie di sorpresa. L'impatto è violento, aggressivo, con il sax di Christophe de Bezenac impegnato in colpi d'ancia ossessivi, oltre misura. Siamo dalla parti della musica creativa di avanguardia, a cavallo fra rock durissimo e trasgressivo e un free jazz ormai emancipato dall'approccio naif ornettiano. Siamo dalle parti del John Zorn irrequieto degli anni ottanta, ma con l'orologio puntato sul prossimo decennio.

Questo trio arriva da Leeds e ha scelto l'approccio iconoclasta per le sue scorribande nelle terre del suono irriverente e coinvolgente. Non si fanno mancare isole di estasi incantata che sembrano quasi zone pastorali disinfestate dalla follia prevalente. In altri momenti sbocciano fiori esotici che richiamano il gamelan balinese e altre derive indonesiane. Insomma un bel guazzabuglio sul quale questa musica adrenalinica si staglia con nitida determinazione.

Sempre all'attacco per un debutto davvero convincente!
