Non resta che soffermarci sulla fantasia solistica di Watson e Walrath ormai storicizzata, sul dinamismo frastagliato di Mantilla alle percussioni, sulla solidità della ritmica. Tutte qualità arcinote, che vanno a nobilitare un percorso inappuntabile ma già sentito più volte.
È un disco altamente istruttivo per capire come non sempre l'enorme potenziale di risorse sia seguito da progetti che possano lasciare il segno. Opere che possano deliziare l'ascoltatore smaliziato con qualcosa di più rispetto ad una frenetica rivisitazione parkeriana da manuale. Un disco magnificamente suonato, ma non sostenuto da idee eccelse. Forse una incisione live avrebbe meglio valorizzato formula, musicisti e repertorio.
