02. Ostad Elahi - Oraison mystique (Le Chant du Monde - 2004). La priorità assegnata da Elahi alla “bellezza divina“ rispetto all’estetismo tecnico ha liberato la mia mente e creato una svolta nel mio approccio chitarristico.
03. Charlie Schmidt - Xanthe Terra (Strange Attractors Audio House - 2005). Un disco piuttosto meditabondo.
04. Fred Frith - Clearing (Tzadik - 2001). Mi piace molto la sua tecnica eclettica palesata in questo CD così come la varietà di espressività sonora che produce.
05. Ferran Fages - A cavall entre dos cavalls: composicions per a guitarra (Creative Sources Recordings - 2004). Questo è un CD meditativo e dai grandi spazi, nel quale ritrovo alcune affinità con i miei lavori.
06. Derek Bailey - Pieces for Guitar (Tzadik - 2002). Il clima personale/privato di questa registrazione mi ha spinto ad affrontare il mio lavoro con idee in qualche modo imparentate al mantra. Dopo la scomparsa di Derek ho sentito forte la necessità di riflettere sulla sua musica e questo è uno di quei dischi attorno quali tendo sempre a gravitare.
07. Jim Mcauley - Gongfarmer 18 (Nine Winds - 2005). Jim passa da uno spazio sonoro all’altro con grande varietà di stili ed eccezionale fluidità.
08. Roger Smith - Green Wood (Emanem - 2002). Mi piace molto il “mondo interiore“ creato in questo disco.
09. Steffen Basho Junghans - Unknown Music II Transwarp Meditation (Preservation - 2005). La ricerca musicale di Steffen è piuttosto unica. Quando l’ascolto mi accorgo che mi sta guidando oltre il semplice concetto di esecuzione strumentale. Ed inoltre amo ascoltare i suoi giochi di prestigio.
10. Olaf Rupp - Scree (Grob - 2002). Le esplorazioni solitarie di questo CD sono sorprendenti ed il brano “The Particles are Detached“ ne è un chiaro esempio.
Ma a questa lista di chitarristi che ascolto abitualmente dovrei aggiungere anche Janet Feder, Elizabeth Cotton, Joe Morris, Jack Rose, Sir Richard Bishop, Dominic Frasca, Uncle Woody Sullender, Tetuzi Akiyama, Richard Leo Johnson, Loren Mazzacane Connors.
